You guys ever think about how all writers for any tron media wanna turn the franchise into a different direction

Tron 1982 was a movie made by people hopeful about the future in technology that explores religious parallels and is kind of corny with dorky characters (which isnt a bad thing... its cute)

Then Tron Legacy wants to be more cyberpunk-y and edgy and lean more into the We Gotta Defeat The Dictator elements from the first movie rather than the lingering Does God Even Know We're Real themes and it's just action and exposition with like three emotional moments

But then Evolution proposes does God CARE about us and CAN this Dictator even be overthrown and even Betrayal whips around and says guy maybe Digital Hitler was kinda right

And then comes beautiful Uprising where the Dictator isn't even a person or an idea to overthrow, but some entity that has grown beyond what we can fight against and has left us with only a small rebellion as to what we can do about our situation because God is Dead

And then Identity pulls the rug AGAIN and claims God ISNT dead he just Left Us To Rot or maybe There Is No God do you see what I mean when I talk about the clashing visions I understand some of these portray multiple perspectives but idk I'm kinda tired of not being able to like tron and having to like a certain version I've built for myself because the franchise can't keep consistent storytelling

In Betrayal, Tron put his all to try and save the Sea of Simulation from Clu. And he was visibly shaken and angered when he failed. He snapped for the first time.

In Legacy, Tron is reborn fully freed of Clu's control in Sea of Simulation.

Part 1, Part 2

You know that part in legacy when quorra is hurt and Sam speaks up but Flynn shouts that “you’ve done enough!”? And then he quickly walks that back with a joke? Anyway I thought of a time he may have shouted those same words at CLU.

I’ve been rereading the Betrayal comic a lot recently cause it’s so good and thought of this beat. Multiple times Flynn arrives in the Betrayal comic he is saved by Tron from collapsing debris (and his own stunts lol). I imagine this takes place after Jordan’s passing given his more haggard look.

Flynn was shoved out of the way by Tron when debris from a collapsing sector comes crumbling down. When the dust settles Flynn finds tron and is absolutely shaken. Tron’s been injured before but he’s always maintained consciousness, this time he’s stuck in the lifeless mode Quorra fell into when she lost the arm. Flynn’s panicking because he’s been able to decipher Alan’s code for the superficial injuries but to this degree? Given Flynn’s loss in the user world he can’t control his outburst to CLU who arrives on the scene.

CLU is trying to twist this to be the fault of the ISOs which is a thing he constantly does in the betrayal comic but Flynn is not in the mood.

There was gonna be another panel of CLU being taken aback for a moment at the sight (like in Betrayal he is behind the attacks but seeing Tron hurt he’s probably like “oh..yikes okay hm.” I just think these three have a fascinating dynamic.)

Tronnie will get fixed and Flynn will have a sit down about self preservation which will not last long cause “fight for the users” is so engrained lol but oh well. Flynn will later try and apologize to CLU and he’ll just reiterate the iso situation but quietly relieved Tron is fixed.

And nothing bad ever happened on the grid again lol

I know Tron and CLU 2 didn’t have a very tight relationship, but isn’t it just messed up to know that an acquaintance who you talked with about personal problems, who you let into your life, who you treated fairly, who you stood beside at some point, is out there hunting you down to want to use you as a puppet.

Fun little (little?) doodle of the two blorbos from the two fandoms that have had the biggest fucking impact on my life on/off-line. It's also been way too fucking long since I did a serious doodle of Tron in his Tron Betrayal/Legacy suit and good god, I forgot how fucking ridiculous that goddamn fucking jumpsuit is, but I'm a sucker for lights and lighting up those circuits made me too fucking happy.

I'm not gonna look too deep into how weirdly similar they both are when Tron rezzes his helmet on. Nobody look too deep into this kthnx.

Tyrace's Origin is as muddled as his corrupted memories of it all. He was created on an Independant system as a prototype Chimera Program (basically like a program that can learn and adapt to any job or function, similar to a rudimentary User-made ISO.) He was loaded into the Encom system to test his functionality in real time, and see if his Programming would work in a true scenario. Unfortunately, his coding was very unstable, resulting in a glitch... then a full compromization... morphing his adaptogenic code into that of a virus. He was ripped out of the Encom system both for safety of the System's other functions, and to protect whatever was left of the Beta Program, and stored on an empty drive... one that was stolen by Flynn to extend parts of the Grid onto. Finding himself conscious once again, missing memories, and corrupted... abandoned and cut off from his home and User... He escaped onto the Grid... living out his life in the Outlands... trying to find a cure for his... condition... while also protecting cities from his own kind.

Thinking about how much Tron loved the games in Betrayal before they turned into killing games. Beck participated in games with the garage gang. Do you think their sparring/training ever brought Tron back to the days of the original games? Do you think some small part of him was happy to be fighting again, without the goal of derezzing his opponent?

Clu's changing attitude toward the Games are interesting. In early Betrayal, he doesn't partake in the games, he doesn't even come to the arena. He doesn't even know programs love the games.

Later in Betrayal, we see he's ordered guards to de-rezz the losers in arena which pisses off Tron greatly. But Clu is still not seen in arena himself at all, as far as we are shown. Once confronted with Tron, Clu revokes the order. Maybe this was an attempt to rile up Tron and catch his attention.

By the time of Legacy, Clu is an active avid audience of the games, in his VIP lounge, even manipulating the environment with those spheres. It's really a game to him now.
